If I could be anywhere in the world right now, it would be Madrid.  Why am I so drawn to Spain's beautiful capital city on this day, you ask?  It's because Madrid is the only place in the world to see the new El Arte de Cartier exhibition. Housed at Madrid's Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, a collection of nearly 400 of the most exquisite Cartier jewels are on display for the world to see.  The collection is extremely varied, from clocks and timepieces to brooches and necklaces, so you'll be given a chance to get a glimpse of the many things Cartier does beautifully. During my research I've seen a fair amount of photos from this exhibit and my absolute favorite pieces are the ones worn previously by Elizabeth Taylor, Grace Kelly, and the Duchess of Windsor.  These women, besides being known the world over as having impeccable style, were also some of Cartier's most loyal customers.  It certainly can be argued that they helped put this iconic jewelry atelier on the map. Plus, for me, these pieces also represent the true meaning of jewelry.  Not just glittery pieces to draw attention, jewelry has a story, a meaning.  It reminds you of that place you dream about, the man you love, or that glorious time of your life.  The Cartier pieces owned by these icons all have special meaning to them and, even though they're gone, the meaning lives on through the pieces. And I think that's just a lovely thought... El Arte de Cartier
