Eight Injured in Blast Near MQM Office in Karachi

KarachiKarachi: At least eight people were injured in a blast near Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) electoral office at Burns road on Thursday.

According to sources, the bomb was planted in the ablution portion of the mosque. Initial reports suggested that it was a remote-controlled blast and at least one kg explosive material, including ball bearings, was used in it.

Rescue and emergency teams rushed to the blast and shifted the injured to Civil Hospital Karachi, where emergency has been issued.

Police and Rangers cordoned off the crime scene.

The election campaign of MQM has been consistently targeted throughout in Karachi alongside Awami National Party (ANP) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). .

Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has announced to carry out attacks on the liberal forces to sabotage their election campaign. However, despite of attacks and threats, the all three parties have vowed to partake in polls with full strength.
