EGO- Easily Go Out of Control

By Shivam Ralli @shivamralli167
As I am starting to grow both mentally and socially, I can feel something surging inside me whenever I feel that I am being under estimated, which is well, everyday, and I am sure it’s not a kind of a teen problem. I am sure everyone, every single one of you reading the article at present, must have felt this someday. Well here are some other situations in which you may feel angry or dejected:
  •   You have started a fight just for the sake of it, to emerge in the eyes of the spectators as the superior, of you can say, the winner.
  •     Feeling dejected because you couldn’t score your expected marks, but your partner did, that too, more than you.
  •     Your friends didn’t treat you the way you expected.

I am sure that most of you have guessed the problem that I am talking about. It is a problem present in every human being, highest in teenagers  and supposedly “least” in yester years’ saints. Yes, I am talking about the biggest motivator in the times of competition and the cause of downfall when present over the limit, EGO. Girls,  Well, if you still don’t know the extent to which modern civilization has fallen to ego, here is a simple example.“Sky scrapers are the recent trends in every architect’s dream. Every company wants to build the biggest sky scraper in every city, but is it really worth it? Do they need all this space? Some companies really need it while others need such tall buildings to satisfy the inflated ego of the owners!!”“ The cold war was the major event that led to the start of the Korean war. What most people don’t realize is that the cold war itself was started by the differences in ego between the United States of America and the Soviet Union.”“India and Pakistan” I don’t need to elaborate more on this matter.Well, by the above incidents, some of which are actual major incidents, you can see that the world is slowly falling into the deep schist of ego. Someday, the newspaper headline will read:

EGO- Easily Go Out of control

Forget EGO!

“THE EGO PANDEMIC HAS TAKEN ITS TOLL. THE WAR HAS LEAD TO 6000 CASUALITIES.”Well, now that you know the severity of the “disease”, what are the “cures” and “methods of prevention”?1.   Choose LoveYeah, I know how that sounds, but give it a chance. Even if you can’t quite get on board the love train, don’t worry about it. Just start telling yourself “if love did not create it, it is not real.” Trust me on this, even though I can’t provide you a firsthand experience. You can always ask the lovebirds in your midst. You’ll have a whole new perspective on your situation. It’s amazing how solutions suddenly occur to you once you’re no longer trapped in the fear/anxiety loop.2.    Never ComplainComplaining keeps us locked in negativity, right? I mean, think about it. So why complain even to yourself? This is the source from which self-disgust, self-hatred, and self-sabotage springs—and ego loves it, this self-imposed separation. Again, a little heady. But if you don’t get it, don’t worry. This is all you have to know: just stop complaining. Try it for a week, see what happens. See how your life opens up for you. 3.   If All Else Fails, Just Be GratefulIt’s hard to be down and out while also feeling grateful. You may try the above suggestions and find that you begin to get angry. You start to feel like all this self work and self-reflection is pointless and you should be able to feel and say and eat and think and watch what you like. This is totally normal. This is the ego defending itself. It’s throwing up any obstacle it can into your path. It’s main goal, remembers, is to maintain the separation. So when the anger strikes, just let go of all the self-improvement stuff for a while. And then keep going This is your one small step back toward your path.
Well, I don’t think I need to end the flow. Just follow the above steps, and live life king size!!! (I know it’s an egoist remark!!)
