ECP Allotted Electoral Symbols to Political Parties

electoral symbolsThe Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday completed the homework of allotting electoral symbols to political parties for the forthcoming general elections.

According to ECP sources, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has been allotted the symbol of Lion”, Pakistan Muslim League-Q ‘Bicycle’, Pakistan Muslim League-F ‘flower’, Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf ‘Bat’, Muttahida Qaumi Movement ‘Kite’, Awami Nation Party ‘Lantern’, Jammat-e-Islami ‘Scale, while the symbol of Jamiat-e-Ulema-Islam-F, ‘Book’ whereas the symbol of inkpot and pen has been allotted to Awami Muslim League.

The ECP has allotted the symbol of ‘Missile’ to Tehrik-e-Tahafuz Pakistan, while the symbols of “Tree” and “Camel” are allotted to Jamhoori Watan Party and Balochistan National Party respectively.

However, due to the emergence of several claimers to have their right over ‘Arrow’, the election commission has delayed the allotment of that symbol and the decision this regard will be taken on March 25.

Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP), who contested the previous elections in 2002 and 2008 with the symbol of arrow, is the frontrunner for getting that electoral symbol.
