Eclyctico | Handmade Cards

By Pragyasharma57 @pragyasharma57
Back in Feb, I put up my very first stall at my college's fiesta selling my hand made greeting cards under  'Eclyctico'. I know this post is too late to come up! But it was only few days back that I saw it lying in my drafts and thought of publishing it.
Since it happened to be Rose Day on the day of Fiesta, most of my cards were 'Valentine's Day' centric and few for Friendship and Birthdays. As I had made my decision to put up a stall 2-3 days back only, all the 15-20 cards were made within 2 days including nights :p. They were impossible without mom's help.
I was apprehensive about the response, because initially I thought of selling them at Rs. 70 each but my friends were of the view that I was underestimating my hard work. So we zeroed in on Rs. 150 per card (see the inflation!!!). But this was not all, I realized it require great minds to sell something, to convince people to buy a special card for your special Valentine. Guys were easier to approach; my best card sold for Rs. 250, the least for 100. All in all, with few cards left, I made around 3000 bucks.
Even the posters for the stall were handmade with decorative lace, so they completely stood out from the printed ones. I made them in such a hurry that I missed the chance to click their pictures
An awesome experience, couldn't have been possible without my group!!
