Eat green to keep you lean

“Go green” is the anthem of many people today. Indeed many celebrities have called it off on meat and fish and turned to becoming vegans. Anne Hathaway, Alicia Silverstone, Carrie Underwood are all among popular celebrities who have turned vegetarians after knowing its nutrition benefits.

Conditions like obesity are becoming rampant in the U.S continent. It is estimated that more than one-third of the people are obese. This is certainly not a good sign. It’s not just about being obese, but this sort of disorder could lead you to further serious complications that are harmful to your health. Therefore it is high time to take first step towards a healthy living before it gets out of your control.

It might now dawn on you, why greens? Green vegetables like fruits are low in fat content and offer rich nutritional value in the form of vitamins and minerals. Your body needs regular supply of calcium, potassium, magnesium, iron and vitamins which are available in green vegetables. In addition to the vitamins and minerals, veggies also carry anti-oxidants which protect your body from diseases like cancer and develop immunity against other diseases. Now you know what you have been missing and what you need to do to cut down on that excess weight and become healthy again.

Some of the greens that you could include in your diet are:

  • Kale
  • Collards
  • Spinach
  • Broccoli
  • Mustard greens
  • Lettuce

Along with your vegetarian diet, also add a workout schedule like brisk walking by taking your dog out or a short run around the block. This could burn out those extra calories and keep you in good shape along with maintaining your cardio health.

When you follow these tips don’t be surprised when someone walking aside calls you gorgeous, because you have earned it now.
