According to the Local, a drunk Swedish man, who was late for his flight at a Swedish airport, came up with a dumb plan to delay takeoff so he would not miss his plane: tell security there was a bomb on the plane.
There are many kind of drunks. Affectionate. Sloppy. Flirty. And just plain stupid. Needless to say, this man’s plan failed, and he missed the plane because the plane had to be searched for bombs before he was arrested.
For the passengers, this must have been a lousy way to have their flight delayed. Still, for those passengers who were inconvenienced, remember it could be worse. Here are:
Three Worse Ways A Drunk Could Ruin Your Flight From Sweden
1. Board your plane, drink all the liquor on the plane, resulting in you having to watch the inflight movie, Mamma-Mia! stone cold sober. By the way, the drunk is sitting next to you, and being a true Swedish Abba loyalist, he sings Abba-hit “Waterloo”, all the way through the flight, and connecting flights to Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, thousands of miles away.
Swedish rocker Maja Ivarsson would sing better songs than Abba on a plane. But not necessarily off a plane, as she is responsible for featured vocals in Cobra Starship’s song “Snakes On A Plane (Bring It)”
2. Board your plane, with his drunk friends from Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, who according to CBC, caused a flight to have to perform an emergency landing because they had become so unruly, they had to be restrained, and then chewed through their restraints. These men were on a business trip for Blackberry-maker Research In Motion, and subsequently fired, but since they like chewing so much, we bet they’ll drunkenly chew your ear off about how awesome Blackberry OS 10 will be if it ever comes out in the next 10 years.
3. Board your plane and accidentally release the 500,000 bees on the flights from Sweden to Greenland, that we wrote about here. Let’s just say the only thing worse than a plane full of angry bees, is drunk belligerent bees, totally wasted off the fumes of the drunken passenger who keeps swatting at them and challenging them to “take this fight outside.”
