US drone attacksA US drone attack in South Waziristan region of Pakistan has killed at least eight more Pakistanis. Pakistani security officials have termed dead as “militants” which not be confirmed from independent sources. Officials state that a US drone fired missiles on a training camp linked with Hakimullah Mehsud group of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan. Security official seeking anonymity said two important commanders are also expected to be among the victims.

In a similar attack on January 2, 2013 an influential Taliban leader Mullah Nazir was killed. His killing infuriated Tribesmen and they staged a huge protest against United States on Saturday.

After every drone attack, officials usually make tall claims about the drone targets but such claims often go wrong. Precision rate of drones is very poor as independent resources suggest that civilian causalities are much more than high value targets. Often children and women become victims of such inhumane use of technology.

Drone attacks has yet to prove its efficacy an effective counter terrorism measure.
