Dress Over Skirt

While browsing through my archives, I realized that I did a couple of valentines day outfit incorporating red in lil doses but a major one like this with an explosion of red was missing. So to make up for this, I put together a look featuring my new dress for less from H&M. This dress was marked down to $15 and thanks to the sales associate at the NY store who let me avail the 25% on this. Duh..., a drop waist dress for under $12 , passing on this would have been a fashion crime on my part. To avoid not get into the guilt list, I bought this dress and what perfect week to wear than this cupid struck week. 

 Wearing a skirt over a dress or vice-versa had been on my mind ever since I saw Diane Kruger  wear a skirt over a dress. All this while until today I was unable to do so simply coz it went beyond my comprehension. But the day I bought this dress I knew it was the perfect layering piece. So today was the chance to execute my so long envisioned sartorial dream. Not to mention I was able to concoct this look in less than 10 mins. I love how the dress picks up the wow factor against the textured printed skirt. I couldn't find anything better to finish off thelook than the calf print clutch. Overall a look to add to my faves..! What do you thing of my layered look ? 

P.S- it started to snow as we stepped out to take the pics, so we had to resort to taking the pics in my balcony. Pardon for the tacky floor.
