In Dream Police #2 we learn a bit more about the Dreamscape and how things operate here. If you read the last issue, you know that something strange happened to Frank (not me, I’m already strange). Now there is a woman named Kate who took the place of Frank as Joe Thursday’s partner and said she has been the whole time. Joe is confused by can’t seem to figure out why. The thing with Dream Police is that they don’t sleep, they aren’t tired and they don’t feel like sleeping. They are always working. Joe decides to see what would happened if he closed his eyes for a bit. What seem like a couple seconds was more like a day. Joe is seeing and remembering things but can’t solve the mystery just yet.
This has to be one of the most interesting stories I have read in a while. There is so much original and fascinating stuff going on, it’s hard not to be interested. Joe’s partner changing to Kate mysteriously seems like the main plot but there is so much more to the story. They deal with this whole dream land. There is a big part of the story dealing with a wisp. They are dream-forms that haven’t decided which form to become. There is a matter that involves the police with them. Visually enticing with an explanation that can make you think if this type of subconscious reality exists while we are dozed off.
I was pleased with issue one but this makes me want to keep reading…which is the goal, right? If you are looking for a fun and interesting change to what you might be reading, I would pick up these first two titles and give it a shot.
