Dr Oz African Mango Diet

Some of you may remember a relatively new theme on the Dr. Oz show where viewers are encouraged to lose 10 pounds in an effort to improve their overall health.

We all know that Dr. Oz supports alternative therapy and on September 13 th, 2010 he did mention that the use of African Mango (Irvingia Gabonensis) had proven to be effective when used as a supplement in addition to eating healthy and regular exercise.

Dr. Oz didn't recommend a specific brand of African Mango, however he did mention that it is best to look for products that contain the extract Irvingia Gabonensis.

Irvingia Gabonensis is a tree found in West and Central Africa.

It is also known as the wild mango or African mango and is known for its edible yellow fruit. Inside each mango is a dika nut which supplies the fiber for the extract.

African Mango Health Benefits

During the same episode, Dr. Oz said, There are brand new studies that have come out showing that African mango actually acts like a super-potent fiber. And because of that, it's highly effective in sequestering cholesterol and taking it out of your body.

That's why fiber is so important for any diet that you're on. That's why breakfast is important, because it's got fiber in it.

Since Irvingia gabonensis is high in fiber, studies have shown that the fiber increases the removal of cholesterol from the body.

Additional research has shown that African Mango seeds might also affect fat cells; reducing fat cell growth and increasing the breakdown of fats.

African Mango has long been known to boost energy levels with African tribes that have used the supplement for centuries as a natural energy supplement during their hunts for food.

Additionally, Irvingia gabonensis has been shown to increase Adiponectin in the body which improves sensitivity to insulin and can increase natural fat burn.

Dr. Oz says African Mango Can Help You Lose 10lbs!

Even Dr. Oz has said that African Mango is a breakthrough supplement and a miracle in your medicine cabinet that can help you lose 10 pounds.

And for those of you that need a little more scientific support, a clinical study in 2009 showed that people supplementing with the African Mango extract Irvingia Gabonensis lost an average of 8.9 pounds and 2 full inches of belly fat within just 28 days.

The journal of Lipids in Health and Disease published a study that was conducted on 102 people split between those taking the African Mango and those taking a placebo.

The study showed that individuals that took African Mango saw Significant improvements in body weight, body fat, and waist circumference.
