An incisive ode to the likes of Daft Punk, “Rebound” combines the French duo’s glossy, digital aesthetic with breathy vocals and explosive pop hooks. London-based singer Dornik makes music that is breathy and intimate as well as slick and rhythmically persuasive. On “Rebound”, phased out synth bursts wrap themselves around an insistent beat as Dornik vocalizes all the pain of losing someone you can possibly squeeze into such catchy vocal parts.
