Don Pedro Got a New Condo! [betta Fish with a Death Wish]

Hi guys! I’m so glad you all liked my favorite hair style. I was a little nervous posting about something so un-food & un-fitness.

I gotta be honest for a brief little minute. I was talking to Max last night, about blogging and food. All that stuff. And I told him that I don’t have the same joy-filled relationship with food that I used too. I think being so sick where food isn’t really the culprit but it feels like it is makes me kinda hesitant to love food these days. I never know if something I eat will make me feel awesome or awful. I never know if my body will want the food or get rid of it. It makes eating really heavy and un-fun.

Anyways, I think this is making me want to blog about other things… like hair styles, and my fish’s new house.

Guys, if you haven’t been introduced yet… this is Don Pedro. My very tiny, undersized, hates to eat, betta fish with a death wish. And this is his new condo.

Well D. Ped. decided to become a very high maintenance pet in the last 36 hours. In his old apartment he had tiny purple rocks and this short little plant with small leaves. Bettas like to have plants in their homes because they like to feel like they can hide if they want too.

Now, I’ve had quite a few betta fish… Howard, George, Cat, Bird, Turk… I think that’s all of them. Anyways all of these {normal} bettas would swim around the plant and hide under it. Not D. Ped!!! Don Pedro likes to swim through the plant. He clearly has a death wish because he think’s he’s much smaller than he actually is.

So get this… he get’s stuck in the (beaver) damn plant. Then he wiggles real quick like he’s trying to motorboat himself free and when he does that he rips his fins off!

Anyways yesterday, after doing extensive research, I built him his new condo and he seems to like it. He did have one suicide attempt already that involved swimming underneath the rocks, but since the ‘incident’ we’ve been doin’ alright.

Oh what we do for our pets.
