Doing Business the Amazon Way

I have to say that I’m pretty impressed by Amazon’s business model through out its life span. They’ve grown from online books to online retail, consumer hardware (kindle eBook readers), movie streaming and now tablets.

And for me it’s not they’re technically excellent in manufacturing hardware or that they have the best looking website but it’s how they deliver the benefit of their products.

They have just announced a range of e-readers and their flagship tablet, the Kindle Fire. Forget the technical jargon like camera pixels and resolution.   All that matters to a point but the consumer only cares if their main benefits are met.

The best things about the Amazon Fire tablet: Great market for eBooks, online magazines, tablet games and Amazon’s streaming service for movies and TV. Not to forget its online cloud storage.

All for $200!

Amazon have made the Kindle Fire a new kind of tablet in a new market.  Simple entertainment at a simple price.

Haven’t felt a real reason to get a tablet yet but Amazon have given me plenty. They have done two of the most important things any business can do. Getting the price right and massively differentiating themselves from other tablets.  Especially Android based tablets.

It’s good to see companies like this planning out a strategy and giving good value.  Lets face it, it’s hard to differentiate every other tablets that’s being announced every week apart from a few technical advancements.
