Rumors are flying today that this Sunday, August 4th, the BBC will be airing a live special to introduce the new Doctor. That would be 2pm EDT. I have not seen any official announcement from the BBC about this so we will have to keep our fingers crossed that it is true.
I’m also hearing that there will be an announcement of some sort at Midnight tonight (7pm EDT) from the BBC. I expect that this might be confirming the special, but we will have to see.

Update: Many news sites are confirming the announcment for tonight, but that they are sworn to secrecy. Still nothing from the BBC, but all signs point to this rumor being true.
