LEGO has made the announcement all Whovians were hoping for: a Doctor Who LEGO set is coming this year!
We’ve been covering LEGO possibly taking on a Doctor Who set since last March when the first Doctor Who set received the needed 10,000 votes to enter the review phase. After that first set reached the review phase quickly, it only took a few more weeks for the second concept set, from fan Andrew Clark to receive the needed 10,000 votes to also reach the review phase. Giving us 2 Doctor Who sets to reach LEGO’s review stage within a month. Since that time, LEGO has been considering the two sets to potentially put into production, and it has now been announced that Clark’s Doctor Who and Companions set has been selected, and will be produced into an official LEGO set, to be released later this year thanks to a licensing agreement between BBC Worldwide and The LEGO Group.
