The RadioTimes has pointed out something that most might have missed during Michelle Gomez's video announcing her return as Missy in the Series 9 two-part opener.
During her video where she announced her return, Gomez is seen eating an apple, when she switches from one hand to another just for a moment.
In that moment, it seems some eagle-eyed Whovians caught a glimpse of something familiar, and if you go back and freeze the video at the proper moment, sure enough, you see the familiar look of a vortex manipulator being worn on Missy's wrist.
It looks like Captain Jack Harkness and River Song aren't the only ones that can get around in this quick and dirty way of time travel.
This could end up being the explanation for how Missy "survived" the end of last season.
Time will tell I suppose.
