DIY's For The Weekend

I'm officially hibernating this weekend, so I figured I'll finally tackle my DIY Pinterest Board. I'll need to make a few quick stops, including Home Depot (because, obvi), the SoWa indoor flea market on Sunday for an old map and wooden frame, and a craft store like Michaels for some fabric pant and sturdy thread.

Here's what's on deck:

An embroidered roadmap to frame. 

I'm thinking of doing the drive from Philadelphia to Cancun (Yes, that really happened.....) and maybe a map from Philadelphia to Istanbul and back to Boston, where I was born and my husband was born, respectively, and where we live now.

Tin Man-chic metal-pocket jeans. 

Sitting down is over-rated.

A deconstructed jacket with safety pins.

like Todd Lynn's "Radowsky" jacket.  

Shoe updates.

I have a couple pairs of shoes that need updating, like a paid of black wedge booties that could use an awesome heel update:

Painted sneakers.

I have a pair of high-heeled canvas sneakers (are you rolling your eyes?) that are just plain black. I want to zhuzh them up a bit. Here are the ideas I'm bouncing around:

A new way to frame with clothes pins and wire.

How shabby-chic is this empty frame for hanging photos? It could be fun to go through old photos from facebook and folders on my computer to print out and string up.

A cheap n chic chandelier

And, this beautiful chandelier that is really just an update on an Ikea lighting fixture. I could probably dig up some glass pieces at the SoWa market to hang on it.All images and credits/links are avail on my Pinterest board, here.
