Last week a wildfire of social media raged over a long-ignored topic: Diversity in Wine.
Sparking that flame was Julia Coney, a wine industry influencer and blogger, who drafted an open letter to Karen MacNeil : Your Wine Glass Ceiling is My Wine Galls Box.
Concurrent with this media storm, The Golden Globes honored Oprah Winfrey with the 2018 Cecile B. de Mille award – a first for any woman, regardless of race.
In keeping with the spirit of Oprah’s acceptance speech, I’m sharing a link to the interview I did with Julia Coney as part of a three-part series I did on the topic of Diversity in Wine back in October 2016.
I do this not only as a reminder, but also as an inspiration – it may take time to get there, but oh, the view…
