Discover The Best Secret Beaches on Earth

By Simon Hales @itertrav

Vacationing in cities does give you quaint attractions to feat your senses on. Still, many vacationers prefer to spend their holidays lounging in beaches, bathing in pristine waters and wiggling their toes through fine sand.

We all know the most popular beaches in the world. In fact, if you are a big beach bum yourself, you must have made your way in at least one of them. However, if you are unlike other people and would rather bask in unknown and secret beaches, you should be surprised that there are actually quite a few of them that still remain untarnished and untouched by tourism overkill.
For those who would want to discover as new-found beach paradise, feast on the five best hidden beaches in the world (although they are bound to not remain undercover much longer.)

Cousine Island, Seychelles

If you are willing to shell out €6,500 per night, then head on to the Cousine Island, one of the 155 islands that comprise the Seychelles Islands in the Indian Ocean. Enjoy absolute isolation and spend those lazy days exploring almost deserted lands, sipping mai tais, and giving back to the environment. The place can only be reached via helicopter and has four exclusive island villas, each of which are able to accommodate only 8 people in a day. All of the proceeds from the hefty fee go to the maintenance of the island.

Caprera Island in Sardinia, Italy

The Caprera Island is a part of the Maddalena Archipelago located in the northeastern end of Sardinia. It is an island known for the pink granite rocks that line its shores. In 1855, an Italian patriot name Giuseppe Garibaldi bought the island and planted the first pine trees. Today, this island is now made fully open to the public.

Whale Island in Vietnam

The Whale Island is famous for whale spotting and coral reef snorkeling. Only just 2 hours north of Nha Trang, the island boasts pristine waters, colorful coral reefs, and tall coconut trees. The Whale Island Resort is the only building in the island, giving guests the kinds of complete isolation that they need. Guests can do a variety of activities like snorkeling, windsurfing, sailing, or swimming.

Luskentyre Beach in Harris, Scotland

Scotland might not bear the typical white beaches but its golden sand is something that should give tourists a feel of the South Pacific. It has a few farms, vacation homes, and the best beach views in all of UK. Head over to the pebbled beach curves in the sand dunes where you should get a good view of the North Harris Mountains.

New Chums Beach in New Zealand

Located in the Wainuiototo Bay, the New Chums Beach is a 40-minutes walk from the Coromandel. In order to reach the beach, you will also have to wade in the lagoon of Whangapoua Beach and follow a rocky shoreline. Once you get there, you should enjoy the warm and blue waters along with the kauri-filled forests.
