Dip Hem Shirts – OoLaLa

By Cleverbuttons @cleverbuttons

Hi All,

The sun has finally made it to the UK, I am not sure where it had been, but I am so happy it has come back. I have finally started to look at my summer wardrobe and consider what I will be wearing this year. The one item I have grown an obsession with this year is the dip hem blouse. I love the fact that they are versatile for the office and for home, but most importantly they are flattering to all figures. Yes there is a top out there that really does suit all of our shapes, sizes and figures in general.

I have been on a bit of a one woman mission to find some of the best for this summer, I will also be wearing a couple from my winter wardrobe, you know me I can’t stick to one trend! So, here are some of my favorites for 2013 and how I will be styling them this summer.
New Look Animal Print

I love a good animal print in the summer, even if this is a shade darker than I would normally pick. This one from New Look is not only a great shape, but inexpensive too which is perfect when collating my holiday wardrobe. The cut of this blouse is going to accentuate your bust – fact. If you are blessed with a larger bust then this may not be the style of dip hem shirt for you.

For me, the best part of this shirt is the length of the hem. This would look effortless over leggings and flats or cut off shorts with wedges making it worth every penny!

Holly Willoughby, Very Shirt

A must have for us curvy girls, this shirt is so adorable I want two. The cut of this shirt is great for larger chests, offering to show off our assets whilst offering some cover if you feel insecure! For me this has to go with a pair of stone  wash jeans, it couldn’t not really. The vintage effect print lends itself to skinny styles and tube skirts, as long as they are tied at the front.

For me, the print and the color of this shirt is the area that needs to shine, so I would keep all accessories simple. Chunky sunglasses and plain coral flats would work great both with the color and the faux vintage design.

Dip Hem Shirt Dress

Finally, throughout my journey to find the ultimate dip hem shirt ended with this amazing orange shirt dress from Oasis – perfect for my holidays and drinks after work! I love that it looks almost safari esq, without being a safari print. The great part is that this dress will simply suit everyone. The hem length is perfect for those of us who may be concerned about our thighs and the tailored front buttons work to elongate us. Now, I know that some of us avoid pleats for fear that they will accentuate our curves, but i say yes to pleats in general, as the dip hem will add length to us anyway, so why not get playful with this dress.

I would style this with statement black stilettos and a classic clutch bag for the ultimate chic summer party!
