The song describes a relationship that is falling apart. One person wants to work through it, the other wants to run away because they can’t deal with fighting. There were expectations for this relationship but nothing turned out right. However, the singer wishes to go back to when it was good and keep it from ending badly again.
Different Ending was released in November of 2011 from the band’s third album,Closer to You. The album went to #3 on the Irish indie charts.
