As most of you may know, I’m not a huge fan of sharing personal problems that you and your partner may be facing. I believe that it’s better to work things out in private without the interference of everyone. Over the past 2 weeks, I’ve been reading various articles about Tina Campbell of gospel duo Mary Mary who also has a reality show on WE TV. She basically came out and let the world know that her husband cheated on her. Apparently, 2 1/2 years ago he cheated and confessed earlier this year. I can’t help but to think “whose bright idea was this?” Did you really have to let the world know he cheated?

In my opinion, there are only three reasons someone would air their dirty laundry to the world Christian or not

Whoever he cheated with is about to tell everyone

Publicity for Season 3 of their TV show

You’re setting the stage for your divorce

As a woman who has dealt with a cheating spouse, I can say that there’s a reason behind her spilling the beans. It’s hard enough to deal with the fact that your husband cheated with a family friend, but then to have everyone know is a whole different can of worms. I can relate to her story because ours are quite similar. I would have preferred if people didn’t know, but in my case, I didn’t have a choice, she did. After spilling the details to Ebony Magazine, the singer stated:

Well since the article, the challenges have worsened. My hope turned into hopelessness & despair and I became unwilling to forgive and fight, until God showed me myself.

Maybe, your husband didn’t appreciate being put on blast to the world. That only adds fuel to the fire. I’m not saying he deserves some slack, but if you plan on working on your marriage, you have to think carefully about your actions. People will past judgements on you, him, and everything in between.

As someone who follows their show, I can pretty much say that Tina is not the nicest Christian in the bible.

My husband’s struggle, was with sexual immorality BUT I have struggled with anger, rage, unforgiveness, pride, just to name a few, for over 2 decades.

Do you think that some of this anger, rage, and unforgiveness spilled into their marriage at some point in time? Of course! Possessing these qualities will drive someone into the arms of another.

Sometimes things happen to us for a very distinct reason whether good or bad. It humbles us and pulls us down off the pedestal we have been on for years. As I have stated previously, people often do not change unless something drastic happens. Situations like this force us to examine ourselves, as well as, the person we are with. It is a very hard road to travel when you’re attempting to repair a marriage torn apart. I hope they can work things out.

Don’t be shy! Do you think it was a wise idea for her to go public about her husband cheating?
