When I first heard about Diane & R-Chie’s love story, I couldn’t help but laugh at how similar it was to ours. Diane, who is from Jacksonville, and R-Chie, who is from San Diego, met online and for 8 years have been in a long distance relationship. Because of all the distance and different states life has taken them to, R-Chie wanted to include that somehow into his proposal to Diane. R-Chie teamed up with a fabulous company called The Yes Girls who help guys plan and put together a memorable and personal proposal, and we’re excited to also team up with them to document proposals in the Jacksonville area. With The Yes Girls help, they created wood cut outs of each of the states R-Chie and Diane have lived in, with a compass map showcasing each form of communication that primarily took place. What started with emails in California, turned to long telephone calls, turned to hand written letters, turned to a beautiful diamond ring waiting at the end of the map where R-Chie got on his knee and Diane said an excited “Yes!” Right after, both of their families were waiting in the wings as they watched from a close by balcony and then ran out to greet them and ooh and ahh over the ring!
