Diamond Girl by Seals & Crofts.

I have to be honest – I’m not really a fan of Seals & Crofts and this song is okay. I think I like the title of the song more than the actual song, but that’s enough for me to write about it.

Diamond Girl, you sure do shine...

The line is so simple yet so creative…and Seals & Crofts found it. I think the song has a nostalgic feeling to it as well. It makes me think that there has to be a million men out there who hear this song and think of their first love during the time it became a hit. Cute.

Diamond Girl was released in April of 1973 from the band’s fifth album of the same name. It went to #6 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and #4 on Adult Contemporary. The album became a best seller that year as well.

The lyrics describe a man who is madly in love with a girl. He’s glad she came into his life and doesn’t know where he’d be without her.
