The Mid-Event Survey is up at Dewey’s Read-a-Thon. Here are my answers:
1) How are you doing? Sleepy? Are your eyes tired? Not so bad. It’s time to fix supper, so I’m sure I’ll be energized after that.
2) What have you finished reading? The Perfume Collector by Kathleen Tessaro
3) What is your favorite read so far? I loved reading about the end of World War II in Paris in Brave Genius by Sean B. Carroll. See if this gives you chills. It comes a few moments after an announcement on the radio that French troops have entered Paris. “La Marseillaise” is played and then the announcer requests that church bells be rung. Parisians…
…opened the windows and waited…They heard a bell in the distance, then another one closer, and soon a chorus of bells across the city–from Notre-Dame to Sacré-Cœur, ringing for the first time in four years. p. 244
4) What about your favorite snacks? As I said in Dewey’s Read-a-Thon Introduction Post, it is not a good idea for a recovering overeater to make a big deal of snacks. But my Honey Crisp apple was delicious!
5) Have you found any new blogs through the readathon? If so, give them some love! So many that they are running together! Check out the Geeky Blogger’s Book Blog. She’s reading for charity, Love on Wheels Transport Program (making a difference for animals). More is added to her donation for comments and for entries to her mini-challenge (which is coming up soon).
