A new colorful laundry detergent packet could endanger your children.Parents say the size and color of the new single-dose laundry detergent packets resemble candy, and more and more children are eating them and getting sick.Jessica Sutton's 19-month-old daughter, Isabella, recently bit into one of the new Tide pods."I could hear her saying 'Candy, candy,' so I just figured they got into candy," Jessica said. But minutes later, Isabella was vomiting and had diarrhea. Compared to some of the other children who have eaten the detergent, those symptoms are mild. Several have had to be put on ventilators to help them breathe. In the last 20 days the American Association of Poison Control Centers say they've received nearly 180 calls in Texas alone.Experts aren't sure yet what's in the products that makes some children dangerously sick. But they recommend that parents keep detergent locked up or on a high shelf out of their children's reach.
