So, what does Delmonico's have to do with Paris buses?  Ans. The fact that it took me longer to go four blocks on a NYC bus than to eat my lunch.

Delmonico's Kitchen was a place where my publisher or her staff chose to have lunch today.  Despite having lived in NYC for 25 years, long ago, I had never eaten at any Delmonico's, nor had a Delmonico steak (a rib cut it turns out) or tasted Delmonico Steak sauce (which is not too different from A-1, it turns out).  So why not?

The mixed salad appetizer was quite nice and had a good dressing; the swordfish option looked OK but I definitely wanted the steak ("blue" in the USA is "black and blue" the waiter informed me) with its famous sauce and the dessert cheesecake was above standard with what appeared to be and tasted like real early strawberries.

Go?  If your publisher offers you a meal there, go.
