Today’s Scotch review comes from the Glentauchers distillery in the Speyside region of Scotland: Deer, Bear and Moose The Gentlemen Scotch. Picked by the team at Flaviar, and bottled for the fantastic Guy Ritchie movie, this sample arrived a while ago and got a bit… misplaced. For a bit. Like a couple months.
BUT now we’re getting to it and I’m glad we are. Glentauchers is one of those distilleries that doesn’t get much attention, but when I get something from them that’s well-matured it’s freaking delicious. Let’s see how the Flaviar team did at picking this one.
Deer, Bear and Moose The Gentlemen Scotch Review: Details and Tasting Notes
“The juice from Deer, Bear & Moose The Gentlemen comes from the Glentauchers distillery in Speyside, Scotland, established way back in 1897. We cherry picked a very special expression to honor this London crime story: a 23-year-old Scotch finished in ex-Bourbon hogshead barrels and a first fill cask from Koval. We tried to capture the intrigue and excitement of The Gentlemen and we hope you can taste it in your glass.”

Deer, Bear and Moose The Gentlemen Scotch Review: Overall and Score
Aroma is sweet and rich and gets more toffee as it opens and chalkiness turns to an Olde candy shop profile; Palate starts low with the spice, but it grows as it opens while retaining the sweetness with sprinkles of earthy malt; Finish is a long sweetly fruity and malty fade. Tasty tasty tasty I’m liking this one!
This Deer, Bear and Moose The Gentlemen Scotch is a solid single malt and if you grabbed a bottle before it sold out I’m sure you’re happy. In a way I’m glad I didn’t try this earlier because I would have had a tough decision in front of me. Instead, I’ll just make this sample last as long as I can… oops, it’s already empty.
SCORE: 4/5
