It's always a challenge to decorate around a television. It's most likely the largest object that gets quite a bit of attention in any room. A television is really a boring black box that just sits there waiting for you to pick up the remote. It's not pretty, and also comes with several hanging wires that need to connected to other devices. I see decorating around a television a huge challenge! How about you?
There are ways to get around this decor problem though. A television could just go in-between floating shelves, where the objects on the shelves get equal or more attention. When placed on a credenza the wires are automatically hidden, and the rest of media could inside the cabinet. You can make a television blend in a gallery wall. A built-in wall of bookshelves is another place where you could display media. You could add large and small plants around it. Or simply, surround it with your most favorite things.
Along with decor aspect, you should also give importance to the correct hight and the distance where the television is placed. Basic rule of thumb is eye level but establishing a good height can be tricky, and it should be at least seven feet away from the sofa. With all that said, I've a few stunning rooms for you here.. tell me, if you like the way these folks have decorated the room with their television!
