Decisions Decisions Decisions

By Suvenchow
It's almost end of the year, which means its time to decide where and what activities I want to be enrolling Little Miss Not A Princess Bebe into for next term.
We're currently doing Montessori on Mondays, Monkey Bars on Wednesdays, and Forte music on Thursdays. To be very honest, she doesn't seem to be enjoying the Montessori and Forte, so we'll have to do something about that.
Whenever we're at Montessori, she will spend the whole two hours outside on the sand pit and cubby house, and if I try to coax her indoors to play with the 'educational toys', she'd be diplomatic about it and play for five minutes, tops. She LOVES the outdoor... Perhaps it's because we live in an apartment, therefore, it's her way of telling me she lacks outdoor time. Maybe I should consider moving to a slightly bigger property with some outdoor space. My current apartment unit has a small balcony, but I am scared out of my wits to let her outside. Even my uncle, who is a builder, says the glass railing doesn't feel safe and thinks it does not meet the adequate safety standards. So poor baby girl usually stays indoors whenever we're at home.
Anyway, I've just called the Waldorf school twenty minutes away from here to see if they had a spot available next term. I figure if baby girl wasn't striving to her full potential in Montessori, perhaps I should give Steiner a go. Apparently Steiner schools (aka Waldorf) emphasize more on play and imagination, and they spend a lot of time outdoors. So hopefully it'll be a better suit for Little Miss.
As with Forte, I'm not sure if its the teacher or the syllabus. Again, baby girl doesn't seem keen to participate despite having been there for two terms. So I think I might just give it a miss next term too. It's really hard to tell though, because she would come home humming some of the songs and doing some of the hand movements from the classes, but in the class she'd refuse to do anything. Maybe I should give her a term's break and start again?
Hmm... Decisions decisions decisions..
