David Downton for Eyeko “Eye-Cons” Collaboration

Eyeko and David worked collaboratively during the creative process and together they created a Limited Edition Collection of 3 brand new products, in a makeup bag featuring one of David’s new illustrations exclusively created for the brand:

  • David Downton for Eyeko Makeup Bag: featuring a new, exclusive illustration.
  • Mascara: a volumizing mascara with curved brush to lift the lashes; the botanically boosted formula contains arginine and biotin to strengthen the lashes.
  • Elegant Liquid Eyeliner with Precision Brush Tip: created in the style of David’s calligraphy pens.
  • Brow Gel: lightweight gel formula infused with botanically-enriched nutrients for a perfectly groomed finish.

 The collection is launching September 1st 2016; exclusively on Eyeko.com.

David Downton has an established reputation as one of the world’s leading fashion artists. His classically elegant, yet highly contemporary images have been a key factor in the revival of interest in the tradition of fashion illustration.  David has created portraits (from life) of some of the world’s most beautiful and iconic women; including, Cate Blanchett, Dita Von Teese, Erin O’Connor, Catherin Deneuve, Iman, Linda Evangelista, Rachel Weisz and Paloma Picasso (and more…), and is commissioned as the artist in residence at the prestigious Claridge’s Hotel in London, where he is enlisted to create portraits of all of the hotel’s most illustrious guests.

Even though David never does beauty projects (this is his FIRST!) he was drawn to Eyeko’s packaging and iconography, as well as excited by the prospect of working closely with friends & Eyeko founders, Max & Nina Leykind, on this project.  David says, “I jumped at the chance to work with Eyeko, we share the same icons (eyekons!) Brigitte Bardot, Sophia Loren, Jane Birkin. Women who are part of our dreamscape.”
