The music legend is back, THANK GOODNESS! David Bowie, who is often described as the music recluse has made his spotlight return through the world of fashion. Now I know that many of you will not connect the musical legend with the fascinating world of couture design, but the similarities between Bowie’s persona, music and overall history make this the perfect partnering.
As with the end of every season, fashion powerhouse, Louis Vuitton release a short video to wrap up their collections and celebrate the coming of a new year. This years offering is a perfectly sumptuous blend of a Labyrinth esq party and some exquisite tailoring – I was a huge fan anyway and even more so now. The end-or-year advert campaign, entitled L’Invitation au Voyage features Bowie at his best – at a harpsichord blaring out his dulcet tones. Also appearing in the video short is the model Arizona Muse.
The short directed Romain Gavras of M.I.A fame is one of the first sightings of Bowie in a long while, but according to sources at Vuitton he didn’t take much convincing when taking on the role;
