It was a busy transition back into the week, and a bit colder, but I really can’t complain about temps in the 20’s when my friends to the west are dealing with much colder, windy, and snowy conditions! Today was a “rest” day of sorts, so I kept my run simple with a short and sweet run around the neighborhood.

Run: 1.1 miles at a 7:20/mile pace. The cold air has a way of pushing your pace sometimes, eh?
Thought: I seem to have elevation gain on my mind with every run at this point. I’m constantly looking to add hill repeats and explore the hilliest route, even when I’m only squeezing in a mile to keep the streak alive. What’s interesting to me, however, is that my mindset regarding the local terrain seems to be shifting. When I first moved to Delaware, I felt as though every run was a hill workout. After six months, the landscape seems normal, and I’m feeling as though I’m not getting enough hills, and I’m wishing for even more elevation gain. It’s amazing to me to think about how quickly I became accustomed to the area. This reality just makes seeking out more challenges that much more important as I move forward with my training!
