Cristiano Ronaldo’s Transfer Decision Could Be Swayed by Erling Haaland’s Comments on Him

Erling Haaland appears to be facing a huge decision this summer, with some of Europe’s biggest clubs trying to persuade the Norwegian star that his future lies with them.

Following his impressive results for Dortmund in the Bundesliga and Champions League this season, the 20-year-old has become one of the most sought-after players in the world.

On Thursday, Alf-Inge Raiola and his agent Mino Raiola met with officials from Barcelona and Real Madrid in Spain before heading to England to allegedly meet with Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Chelsea.

Erling Haaland must make a major decision about his future.
A offer of £150 million or more is likely to persuade Dortmund to let Haaland go, and it will be up to him to decide his next path.

And, based on his previous remarks, United and Madrid could have an advantage in the competition, as he aspires to follow in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Between 2003 and 2009, Ronaldo played for Manchester United for six seasons before joining Real Madrid, where he won four Champions Leagues and established himself as unquestionably one of the greatest players of all time.

“I would love to meet him and tell him that he is the reason I am a footballer,” Haaland told Portuguese publication Record in February 2020. He was a role model for me from the beginning.”

The impression that Ronaldo obviously represents so much to Haaland indicates that following in his footsteps will be a dream come true, and his legacy at both Old Trafford and the Bernabeu would not go unnoticed.

At both Manchester United and Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo is known as a legend. Ronaldo and Haaland have never met on the field, but if they do, Ronaldo would undoubtedly put in a good word for his former clubs.

It’ll be fascinating to see who makes the first move in the race for Haaland, but it’s becoming increasingly likely that he’ll be playing somewhere other than Dortmund next season.

It’s anyone’s guess whether or not it would happen in the Premier League.
