Creature Comforts and Sleeping on a Sailboat

By Sailingguide

We sailors often put up with a lot of discomfort when sailing, what with rain and spray and often dampness everywhere and air temperatures tending toward too warm or too cool, but when the cruising boat reaches its destination or the watch ends, we do appreciate getting good sleep. But in the marine environment the berths become damp, or the bedding doesn't fit the odd-shaped berths well, or the sheets just get clammy and bunch up. I recently discovered and tested Sheex bed sheets made for boats, in all boat-appropriate sizes and shapes, and came to appreciate the qualities of their microfiber stretchy fabric that stays in place, wicks away moisture, and feels good on the skin. Not cheap, but quite possibly worth the cost if you - or your bed mate - tends to complain about not getting a good night's sleep. Check them out.
