I am Fazane Malik 29 from Derby UK. I have worked in the industry as a Senior Account Manager for the past 7 years for a clothing manufacturer working with high profile brands such as Hobbs, Boden, Jaeger, Paul Smith, Monsoon and many more.
I recently gave all that up to follow my lifelong dream of setting up a womenswear label. I launched with a collection for AW12 and now have 10 online stockists and 1 physical stockist.
We produce LIMITED EDITION runs of 50 pieces with each one signed and numbered…classic styles with a twist that will easily fit into any working woman’s wardrobe but still stand out in a crowd.
How did you get into your chosen creative profession?
I have had a love of fashion from a very young age and taught myself to sew as a teenager.
I then went on to do a 2 year BTEC in Fashion & Clothing then a BA (hons) in Fashion Studies which included a year out in Industry working for two top Australian designers in Sydney and Melbourne.
What are some of your career highlights to date?
I hope to have a very successful and internationally recognised womenswear label and have branched out into menswear and accessories plus have a stand-alone shop.
I would also like to be helping other designers to succeed through either stocking them in my shop or giving them advise and guidance.
