Creative Family Activities For Thanksgiving

By Jakemontgomery @LTDOnlineStores

The beautiful part about Thanksgiving is coming together as a family. It is an excellent opportunity to strengthen the bonds between family members by being reminded why they are so important to us. Children aren’t so quick to pick up on this so it is important to teach them about the meaning of Thanksgiving. This can be done through simple activities that allow them to have fun and be creative at the same time. Consider adding these activities to your list of family traditions. They will not only keep children busy, but allow them to discover what to be thankful for on their own.

A Thankful Tree is a clever idea that allows several children (and even grownups) to work together towards the final result. This is perfect for reinforcing lessons on cooperation, courtesy, and consideration because everyone needs to work together. The trick is to create individual leaves with handwritten notes that are then tied to branches to achieve the look of a tree. Every leaf represents something to be thankful for. Without leaves, trees wouldn’t be able to survive in nature. Just how the things we are thankful for, like friends and family, are what keep us going every day.
