C.O.W.L. #3 is really starting to feel like a nonfiction story. The way that the politics are involved with getting the new contract set seems a bit too realistic. I had an immediate smile on my face upon looking at the first panel and seeing Comiskey Park in the first panel. I was so happy that it wasn’t the toilet they call Wrigley Field. We spend a decent amount of time with Kathryn Mitchell also know as Radia. She is one of the C.O.W.L. agents who possesses telekinetic abilities. She is seen as somewhat of a simple minded female but she is definitely more than just that as you will see. She meets up with Karl to discuss some things as well as what’s happened to Grant. He has a plan to instill some fear in the crew that put Grant in the hospital. The fate of C.O.W.L. is not looking good. All a while John is still investigating some shady suspicions that get a bit more harrier.
Very great story from Higgins and Siegel. I love how it is playing out thus far. If you haven’t read any of the issues yet, it is like a cross between X-Men and Chicago P.D. This is a great mash up in my mind. Thus is a great superhero story that doesn’t feel like a superhero book. Best of both worlds. Plus it takes place in Chicago.
