Have you ever been in a place where it was hard to see blessings in your day? Well... Welcome to the Neighborhood!
( Both literally, and figuratively…)
There’s a scripture that says: “In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” I Thessolonians 5:18. I made up my mind today after my car was hit by another car, that I would praise the Lord, anyway! I can show you pics of exactly what came my way… because it was a dent or two and quite a scraping, but thankfully I did not have anything major happen to my person. As I was getting hit, I had my car window down and I remember trying to reach out and touch the car in front of me, and I actually said out loud: “No…Please STOP!” ( But she didn’t hear me…) I was certain the bright yellow Dodge GS had a mind of her own, but you know, we cannot prevent anything unexpected from actually happening to us, we often have to just roll with the punches. I decided no matter what happened today, I would can still find things to be grateful for. So I came home, made the call into my insurance to claim the incident, then I grabbed my camera and made a mad dash outside, because I was determined that my joy would not be stolen today!
Here is what I ran into when I went out side, a few beautiful things that are noteworthy for praise!
the slide next door…
Notice the sun was going down and I wanted to catch a few sun rays. And then I saw the swing… this little swing makes me smile, so I tried to capture it, as well. I used to want a swing set, and now i have one, right in my own neighborhood, huh?
And lastly, here is the pretty vines that swiggle ( is that a word??) through our porch netting. Thought they were pretty, since the vines seem to have a mind of its own, and like to curl up beside us on the porch and run from the sun.
Oh no! I cannot forget the beautiful, precious flower that exclaimed: “Pick me!” as I snapped around the community garden… so here she is…
So …that’s what I am grateful for, today. It seems so much better to write my experience down in pictures! ;0)
You can best believe that I was on cloud ten after this! I didn’t even recall having any bad feelings about my car situation any longer! I wonder what it would take for you to also lose yourself in joy and find a way to find praise in the GOOD things, in life.
You should really take the time, it’s so worth it.
