Last night brought you either elation or disappointment (and we aren’t talking about the commercials). The New York Giants prevailed once again over Tom Terrific and his New England Patriots in a surprising, suspenseful game that – as all great Super Bowls should – came down to the final moments of the match. Today, the Giants have taken possession of their fourth Lombardi trophy and are running the media circuit to discuss last night’s game. Amidst the joy from last night’s win and the anticipation of the ticker tape parade upon their return home to NYC, the GMen have one more Super Bowl perk to look forward to – their rings.
As soon as we’ve got the details on the Giants Superbowl XLVI rings, you know we’ll share them here on the blog. Today though, we’re all about Super Bowl rings of years past, and ESPN.com has provided us with endless entertainment this morning via their very cool Super Bowl rings site.
Every team, every Super Bowl, and every ring comes with a story, and ESPN’s dedicated site shares anecdotes and lore about each of the Super Bowl rings throughout history. These rings have stories that span decades, facilitate foreign affairs, and represent the legendary Lombardi himself – each is highly fascinating.
Be sure to check out the site, the rings, and the legends – but be warned, it’s highly engrossing, and far, far more entertaining than last night’s commercials.
