Once in a while the opportunity comes along to do something really special for someone. It was an exciting moment for us when we found out that Universal Music Canada and 604 Records had approved a pair of passes and meet and greets with Dallas Smith for any of his shows on his, largely sold out, Tippin Point Tour. Little did we know how special it would become.

The contest was launched on Friday afternoon and closed just last night. In the end we had over 500 entries across all platforms from all across Canada. Finally late last night we had decided on a winner. Some quick scrambling and we were able to enlist the help of KICX 91.7, Sudbury’s Hot New Country to give our winners a wake up they won’t forget. To add to the show and meet and greet KICX added to the prize by inviting our winners to dinner on them at Oscar’s Grill in downtown Sudbury before the show.
Some strategic messages between us and a friend of the winner and we discovered that this win would be even more special than we could’ve ever imagined.
Our winner, Ginette Soucy of Hanmer, Ontario, has been struggling with health issues. For the past 3yrs she has had surgery on both knees, has had lots of trouble walking, she has fibromyalgia and is always in constant pain but never complains. Her daughter Marissa is always there, the best daughter, to help, she had done a few fundraisers for cancer. They are the best mother daughter team they are always there for each other, Ginette is on a fixed income and Marissa graduated almost top of her class in high school and is now working and going to college taking the social service worker course and doing good grades. To make things even sweeter January 27th is also Marissa’s 20th Birthday and she’ll be celebrating with Dallas Smith!
