E.L. James has gotten just about everyone’s attention with her best- selling trilogy Fifty Shades of Grey. The book, about Anastasia Steele’s involvement with billionaire Christian Grey, has spawned not only a great deal of steamy conversations, but a flurry of products related to the books.
Lingerie, fragrances, beauty products, home furnishings, and amazingly, even onesies for babies, are all carrying the banner of Fifty Shades. There seems to be no limit to the shades of Grey.
We can now add one more to list with a new line of official Fifty Shades of Grey jewelry. H.E.R. Accessories has won the right to produce the jewelry which certainly has design connections with the story lines.
Not a lot of details have been released yet, but the line is expected to be made of mostly metals, which may disappoint lovers of pearls. But when you consider some of the steamy jewelry that can be inspired from the books, you can understand the anticipation of these products. Rings and necklaces are expected to be part of the line, including a locket, but perhaps the most anticipated pieces may be the charms. Charms could be expected to include small handcuffs, keys, masks, and even one to include the catchphrase from the series, “Laters Baby”.
For some, this official 50 Shades licensing may be after the horse has left the barn. A recent eBay search of “50 shades jewelry” returned over 600 listings including charms that featured jet planes, neckties, laptop, ice cream cones, cameras, tea kettles, helicopters, and well…you get the idea.
With over 60 million copies having been sold worldwide, the idea of fifty shades jewelry seems to have merit. It just may the ultimate accessory to release your inner goddess.
