Cobalt has been popping up just about everywhere lately. Peruse an interior design magazine, and you’ll see that “Greek Blue” and “Mediterranean Blue” are being touted as one of the hottest color trends about to take off. Check out the jewelry counter of your favorite department store and you’ll notice a plethora of bright blue resin in the costume section, and highlighted sapphires and lapis beckoning you to the fine jewelry cases. Wander in to your favorite boutique, and you’ll see a sting last stand for summer with blue hued frocks and blouses commanding attention before they make way for the burgundy skinny jeans and olive slouchy sweaters of fall. And here, in the late hazy days of August, when the kids or your teacher friends may or may not have gone back to school, you can still hold on to summer for just a few more weeks.
Santorini’s bright blues inspire the fresh palette.
Kendra Scott’s “Elle” earrings are a joyous cobalt made richer by gold tone hardware – and a jewelry steal at $52.
The Kamani ruffle edge mini dress by Indah is the shoulder baring equivalent of a summer night spent drinking fresh margaritas in Cabo.
While Blaire Eadie of Atlantic-Pacific styled her cobalt perfectly for fall last year – a look that will still be welcome this autumn.
There’s not better blue polish than Butler, Please.
And no sapphire richer than a Ceylon.
Cobalt Mason jars and apothecary jars are a gorgeous and inexpensive way to add some blue to your home.
As is arguably the greatest candle OF ALL TIME, Capri Blue’s Volcano.
And to go blue in your makeup kit, while going green, you’ll flip for Vapour Organics‘ luxurious organic makeup (one of my personal haute hippie favorites.)
And speaking of luxe, the Hermes Bleu Electrique Swift Leather Dogon wallet doubles beautifully as a pop-of-color mini clutch to house all your organic goodies for quick touch ups while strolling the streets of Santorini.
