iBeetle made its first debut at the Shanghai Motor Show 2013 and its release is planned for 2014.
Born from the collaboration between the Cupertino company and Volkswagen, the iBeetle is distinguished by a multimedia interface for the iPhone. A strong integration of the Apple smartphone within the on-board features represents the central part of the vehicle that is running any kind of interaction, from multimedia search, to the management of certain driving functions. Additionally, web browsing and easier access to social networks represent an advantage that provides a great deal of entertainment during the travel.

The iBeetle has an iPhone dock installed in the dashboard, through which the driver or front passenger can access many smartphone features. The system is based on iOS 5 and includes the ability to listen to streaming music via Spotify as well as read messages using voice technology with Reader.

More importantly, there are the apps dedicated to the automobile management, such as the Expert app that measures the lateral acceleration and keeps the engine temperature under constant observation, plus it provides the driver with a stopwatch and a compass. The Trainer app, however, reaches out to those who like to keep records of lap times, receive updates on the distance traveled and at any moment have a real-time information on consumption.
The iBeetle release is expected in 2014 and so far we know it will be available in Coupe and Convertible version.
