It is official. After some debating, pacing, and planning, I have finally registered for my first half marathon ever! I will be running the Colfax Half Marathon in Denver Colorado on Sunday, May 19th. That is almost 19 weeks from now, so my next step is to create a training plan!
Back in the beginning of December, I compiled a “2013 Race Wish List.” The Colfax Half was not on this list, and the only race that I might be able to sign up for, before May, is the THOR obstacle run in April.
Running a half marathon has been in the back of my mind for awhile now, so when I suggested that my cousins and I participate in a fun run while visiting Colorado, I got three enthusiastic takers! Even though there will be altitude, I thought running in gorgeous Colorado would probably be worth the heavy breathing. After looking at the course, I am certain it will be worth it! We get to run through the Denver Zoo. Rawr!

It was also in my new years resolution to run a half before the end of the year, so 7 days in, I have taken “action” to make it happen! Now I just need to decide on some new running shoes, and once I get my training plan figured out I will post it to the blog!

A BodyPump class and a 30 minute treadmill workout are on the agenda for this evening.
