The U.S. Coast Guard has announced that beginning Sunday, December 22, they will post their "Top 10 Videos" of 2013 on YouTube, inviting the public to vote for their favorites. Their press release today in Coast Guard News lists the subjects of these videos, which range widely over the many activities in which Coasties are involved. Only two rescues at sea are included, one of a helicopter rescue of an injured sailor 70 miles at sea, but most videos will nonetheless likely be dramatic, such as surf drills in the breaking waves of the Columbia River and intercepting drug smugglers off Southern California with disabling fire.
