Janelle is a vivacious woman who manages her family’s needs, and carves out time 3 days a week to play tennis. She is a new client who contacted me after reading a post I wrote last month “Never use alcohol on your face! Skin Care Myth Busting.” She had been wiping the nose area of her face with Isopropyl alcohol virtually every night for as long as she could remember, and had no idea that it was damaging her skin. Below is a list of Janelle’s concerns, and some recommendations I came up with to help her have the skin she wants.
Client Information:
Client: Janelle, B
Age: 53
Location: Tucson, AZ
Occupation: Stay-at-home Mom of 4
Client Concerns:
When Janelle first wrote, she was concerned that the nose area was damaged because of the alcohol she had been applying. As she filled out her skin assessment, an number of issues emerged. Janelle’s T-zone (the forehead and nose) was was quite oily, even though the rest of her face was dry–especially around her eyes and cheeks. She said that she “hated” how large the pores were on her nose, and wanted them to be smaller. She mentioned that her skin felt rough, and that she felt she looked older than she was. The two age spots (hyperpigmentation) under her right eye were not helping.
Janelle indicated that she didn’t want to spend a lot of time on her skin, but that she wanted to try to do something to try to avoid having some kind of cosmetic procedure later on.
