Classic Movie Month Weekly Update: May 30

Twenty-three days ago I started my May 2012: Classic Movie Month marathon. Well, the month’s end has come and as I’m writing this, I’ve seen seventeen films as part of this marathon, which I think is fantastic. And although the month has ended, the marathon’s still not over yet! Over June and other subsequent months I’ll still be keeping classic film in my mind when I’m wondering what to watch and I aim to see at least two or three classic films each week. I’ve absolutely adored my experiences with classic cinema so far and I certainly wish for it to continue. In fact, of the seventeen films I’ve watched, there’s only been one I’ve remotely disliked (Brief Encounter, if you’re curious).

There have been three posts prior to this regarding the marathon: the original post, the first update and the second update. Check those out to see more info about what I’ve seen this month. Below I’ll list the films I’ve watched since the last update:

In a Lonely Place (1950)

Stagecoach (1939)

Notorious (1946)

Casablanca (1942) – REWATCH

Rio Bravo (1959)

To sum up: I’ve genuinely, thoroughly loved this marathon so far, and it has introduced me to some really fantastic films. I’d like to thank Anna at Defiant Success for convincing me to do it; without her I’d never have seen these amazing films, some of which are now among my all-time favourites. So yeah, thanks Anna! And thanks to everyone who’s read and/or suggested films.
