Cities to Hit On Your Spanish HolidayThere is so much more to Spain than trendy Madrid and Barcelona, as enchanting as they are. Spain is filled with sprawling towns which have been historical crossroads to ancient and medieval travellers and cultures. These rambling cities are typically filled with the smell of tapas wafting from charming sandstone taverns, and doorways that turn into pumping night clubs very late at night. There has never been a better time to experience Spain than in 2014 as the country turns even more attention to its important tourist industry.
Salamanca
This city lies on the Tormes river on a plateau and is considered to be one of the most spectacular Renaissance cities in the whole of Europe but the medieval sandstone streets pump with a population of young people thanks to its universities- some of the oldest in the world. Because it’s a university town it’s cheap, and the bars and discos pump almost every night of the week, and every Saturday night feels like New Years’ Eve.
Sevilla
Sevilla is the heart and soul of Andalucia, a cross roads of ancient civilizations such as the Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs and Moors. Stay at a luxurious 5 star hotel right in the center of the city, where you’re only moments from the famous sites and the vibrant Plaza de España. Don’t miss Giralda Cathedral with breathtaking views from the top.
Cartegena
This port of city has been prized since Carthaginian times, harking back to the Punics, the Byzantine and the Moors but it also includes the modernist buildings made by the pupils of the famous architect Gaudi, including the former Town Hall, the Gran Hotel, the Casino and the Casa Maestre, among others.  The Promenade and the harbor are great places to stroll but you can also drop into the famous Peral Submarine and the ARQUA (National Museum of Subacquatic Archaeology). Nearby is La Mar Menor hemmed by massive golden sand bars. Stay at the La Manga Club Resort for easy access to all its delights.
Granada
Cities to Hit On Your Spanish Holiday
Granada houses the splendor of the legendary and exquisite Moor masterpiece La Alhambra where you experience the history while taking in sweeping views of the countryside. You might discover more of its secrets as you meander including hidden passageways and dungeons. You can wander through its extensive gardens during the sunshine of the day and return at night when it is bathed in golden lights.
Cordoba
Ancient architecture, hidden plazas and rustic courtyards crammed with bright flowers pots and climbing vines, colorful Cordoba is smaller than Sevilla, but just a lovely. It’s also situated right next to some of the best vineyards and olive oil farms in Spain. Take a culinary excursion to discover some of the greatest flavors included Andalucian cooking.  Cordoba’s specializes in exclusive boutique hotels and comes even more alive at night.
